Virginians - The Family History of John W. PritchettNotes:
• SURRATT/SARRATT/SARRETT Families of America says Morris was born 1709/1710. "The Roberts Family of Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma" says he married Jane abt 1735. "The Roberts Family of Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma" says there are reasons to question whether the Morris who married Ruth Brummall is in fact the same Morris who married Jane Pride. A likely explanation is that Morris Roberts, husband of Ruth Brummall, if he is not in fact Morris II--which cannot be completely ruled out--was a son of one of Morris II's brothers, John, Step or Joshua. We do not know the names of John or Step's children, and cannot be sure if we know the names of all of Joshua's. If this other Morris were the son of Step, John or Joshua, this would make him a cousin of Morris III who was the husband of Jane Pride. There simply are not enough records to clear up the identity of this other Morris Roberts, Jr. The name Morris, as with John, Josua, Step, Thomas and William, is repeated in nearly every Roberts generation, something more than once, it is difficult to keep them all straight. SURRATT/SARRATT/SARRETT Families of America says he died in Henrico Co. but Henrico supposedly later became Chesterfield Co.
• "The Roberts Family of Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma" says Jane was born 1710-1715. SURRATT/SARRATT/SARRETT Families of America says she died bef 1736 in Henrico (which later became Chesterfield).Sources for Morris Roberts III & Unity Martin
